Shavu'ot entre os Judeus Messiânicos em Yad HaShmonah

Soube, de última hora, na Igreja Batista de Jerusalém, que haveria um grande encontro de Judeus Messiânicos (judeus que creem que Jesus é o Messias) em um aprazível lugar chamado Yad HaShmonah, nome foi dado pelos colonos fundadores à memória de oito refugiados judeus que fugiram da Áustria e Finlândia em 1938 e que foram devolvidos pelos finlandeses à Gestapo em Novembro de 1942. Foi um momento em que o governo finlandês colaborou com a Alemanha nazista em oposição à União Soviética, numa tentativa de recuperar a região da Carélia, que Stalin tinha tomado da Finlândia na "Guerra de Inverno" de 1939/40.

Este lugar dá espaço à uma celebração anual, sempre durante a festa de Shavu'ot, para Judeus Messiânicos de todo o Israel e de outros lugares do mundo. Além disso, estrangeiros se agregam a eles para participar desta grande festa de comunhão, louvor e integração nesta importante data em que celebramos, também, o Pentecostes (o texto em hebraico na foto acima, é de Atos dos Apóstolos 2.1)

Como não poderia deixar de ser, um evento bem cosmopolita, onde conheci alguns brasileiros de origem judaica que vivem aqui já alguns anos e lideram  congregações e grupos messiânicos.

O Movimento Messiânico em Israel tem tomado força nestes últimos tempos e saiu do zero, praticamente, a um grupo de cerca de vinte mil pessoas nestas últimas décadas. Um trabalho que merece nossas orações, pois as dificulades que estes irmãos encontram são grandes, ainda que sob a égide de um estado democrático.

Este é mais um aspecto da vida da Igreja em Israel, lugar em que tudo começou há dois mil anos.

Shavu'ot with Messianic Jews at Yad HaShmonah

It was brought to my knowledge thru the Baptist Church of Jerusalem that a gathering of Messianic Jews (Jews who believe that Jesus is the Jewish Messiah) was going to take place in a location called Yad HaShmonah, a name that was given to that place by settler-founders in memory of eight Jewish refugees who fled Austria and Finland in 1938 and who were returned by the Finlands to Gestapo in November, 1942. It was a time in history when the Finland government worked in collaboration with the Nazi Germany in oposition to the Soviet Union in order to regain the control of the Carelia region (Stalin had taken control of that region during "The Winter War" in 1939/40).

There is an annual celebration in Yad HaShmonah during the Shavu'ot festivities, attended by Messianic Jews from all over the world. Besides that, foreigners join them in this celebration that is characterized by communion and friendship. It's also in this very date that we celebrate "The Pentecost" (the hebrew quote in the picture above is from the Book of Acts 2.1).

As it happens in a very cosmopolitan event like this, I met some Brazilians with Jewish origins who have been living here for several years and who are also leaders of religious congregations and messianic groups.

The Messianic Judaism in Israel started many years ago with a few participants and it has been growing significantly throughout the last two decades to about twenty thousand members. It's a ministry that should be in our prayers given the struggles that its participants face despite the fact that Israel is a democratic government. 

This is yet another aspect of the Church in Israel, where it has its very origins dated from two thousand years ago. Please see photos and testimonies below regarding this religious festival.
