In this first post, I want to justify, as a native Portuguese speaker, my decision to publish in English and, likewise, justify the very existence of this blog.
First: I decided to write in English, basically, for two reasons. The first was the need to practice this language, which has been so important to my professional performance thus far. The second reason for writing in English is to record my reflections, which are anonymous, for the world, both for my contemporaries and for generations to come. Who knows, in the future, amid "archaeological searches" on the internet or in another technological environment, some will come across my writings and be able to understand, a little, how my generation thought or what was the subject of our reflection and concerns in our times in the 20th and 21st centuries.
However, above all, I write for myself. Hence the anonymity. I have no interest in becoming known for this work, but only in enjoying this resource, since I currently lack interlocutors to express my own thoughts and concerns. Therefore, it is above all a place to dialogue with myself and project into each text something like a soliloquy, a way to vent my thoughts and feelings that I currently share with practically no one, although I find peers in my readings of books published around the world, as well as on social media channels, especially YouTube.
In these last 10 years, I have learned to walk alone, having once been a man of words, of pulpits, of discourse. I lack none of this, but I feel the need to record my thoughts, if only to clarify my ideas and think them through better. This is the feeling I have when I write: that the more I write, the better I understand, and therefore this is the main objective of this blog. Enjoy, have fun, and perhaps everything recorded here will help travelers find their own paths, as I have found mine.
